Bright Grey, the Edinburgh based protection insurer specialist, today announces its half-year new business results.
Bright Grey is a new start-up business within the Royal London Group. Launched in March 2003, the business adopted a phased role-out to financial intermediaries and is now open to most of the market.
In the first half of 2004 (January to June), Bright Grey wrote £9.3 million in new business. This is more than double the total new business for 2003 and heralds Bright Grey as a growing new force in the Protection market.
Commenting on this achievement, Bright Grey’s Chief Executive, David Robinson said: “We set ourselves some challenging targets for 2004. I am obviously delighted with these half-year results. To be so far ahead already of the total new business written last year is quite an achievement. We’re growing steadily and still have a long way to go to realise our full potential. I am confident that this success will continue throughout the rest of the year and beyond.”
New business is not the only growth area in Bright Grey. Since launching, employee numbers at Bright Grey have more than doubled. The business now employs around 300 people, and it is still growing and recruiting.
Bright Grey’s Deputy Chief Executive, Tracey Ashworth-Davies attributes the success of the business to the high quality of people working at Bright Grey. Tracey said “Finding the right mix of people with the right attitude and who have a commitment to the success of the business is not an easy task. A company is only as good as the people working for it. We have excellent people at Bright Grey.”
