Underwriting improvements

We’ve made improvements to our financial and non-medical underwriting limits on both our Personal and Business Protection Menu plans.

These limits changes are designed to get more clients on risk faster, with less medical evidence needed.

We’ve updated our personal and business underwriting sections with the new limits.

Get the help you need faster

From Monday 19 December, we’ll have a brand new contact system which will allow us to work more effectively, helping us to offer you an even better service.

When you call us, you’ll hear some different options to help you get through to the right area. Depending on the option you choose, you may also be asked to give us a plan number and date of birth. This will open the details of the plan straight away so you won’t need to wait for our customer care consultant to do this when they answer your call.

Q. Why have you changed your telephone system?

A. We've changed our telephone IVR (voice response messages) so that we can offer you an even higher level of service. Our new system allows your call to be transferred directly to the area that's able to help you best.

Q. Why am I being asked to enter information?

A. This will open the details of the plan straight away so you won't need to wait for our customer care consultant to do this when they answer your call.

Q. What if I don't have the information you're asking for?

A. We're not asking for any more information than we did before, but entering it before you’re connected means our consultants are ready to help you as soon as your call’s put through. There are also general options if your enquiry’s not plan related.

Q. What difference will the changes make to me?

A. Having a brand new contact system will simply allow us to work more effectively which will help us to offer you an even better service.

Bright Touch iPhone app

We’re delighted to launch our iPhone app, Bright Touch. It gives you up-to-date product information, FAQ’s and videos in the palm of your hand. It also has nifty tools for when it comes to handling objections.

At Bright Grey we love keeping up with technology and finding different ways for you to talk to your clients. Bright Touch, our iPhone app, is our latest development. We think your clients will love the interactive objection-handling tools, which allow you to tailor your advice specifically to them. And we think you’ll love having all our Personal and Business Protection Menu details in one place.

There’s so much information from so many different providers that it can be difficult to keep up. We designed Bright Touch to help you stay in the know with everything Bright Grey. So take a look, we hope you’ll be impressed! And if you have any feedback, comments or suggestions, please let us know. We like hearing from you!

What’s an app?!

Ok if you don’t have an iPhone then the app’s not for you, but never fear, we’ve got sales aids, calculators and marketing toolkits that can help you too. Just go to our sales tools pages and take a look. And if it’s just that you don’t have an iPhone but you‘d be interested in a version for Android or Blackberry, why not tell us that too?

Using Unipass Securemail

We’re now using a secure email system called Unipass Securemail for sending emails that contain any customer information.

Using Unipass Securemail

We're now using a secure email system called Unipass Securemail for sending emails that contain any customer information. We’ve successfully piloted this system in various parts of the business so we’re confident that it works and it’s easy to use.

Unipass Securemail encrypts emails to keep information safe, giving you and your clients peace of mind.

Why are we changing our secure email system?

While we were already taking steps to ensure that customer or personal information was protected when being sent by email, Unipass Securemail will simplify this process. Securemail encrypts emails, eradicating the risk of the contents being stolen or changed by hackers, giving you and your clients peace of mind that the data in our emails is safe.

What are the benefits?

  • It helps to keep your clients’ personal information safe when being sent by email
  • It helps to keep your company details secure
  • It gives peace of mind that the information has not been tampered with or changed by a third party
  • It helps both your business and ours to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998.

How does it work?

There are 2 main ways of using Securemail:

  • Using your internet browser, for example Internet Explorer or Firefox
  • Using a software plug-in to your existing email client, such as Outlook (you will need to speak to Unipass for this option).

You can also choose to install a secure email gateway and control your email transmission through your own custom policy. If you think this is the best solution for you, then we also recommend you speak to Unipass directly.

What will you have to do?

Once you’ve chosen your preferred method, the first time you receive a secure email from us you’ll be taken through a very quick and straightforward registration process. When you receive a secure email after that, you’ll be taken through a simple security check (you can choose to opt out of this check for a maximum of 8 hours at a time, after which time you will have to sign in again).

How will this affect the way we do business?

This won’t affect the way you do business with us, other than having to register to open the initial encrypted email. And because it’s Unipass, you will only have to remember one password/security question for all encrypted emails from all providers that use the Unipass Securemail system.

Need help?

If you have any problems receiving or opening Unipass Securemail, please contact the Unipass helpdesk: helpdesk@unipass.co.uk or phone 0871 22 12345 (option 2).

Our critical illness cover just got better

We now offer cover for 2 early forms of cancer

23/05/11

Our critical illness cover just got better

Today, people survive and make a good recovery from conditions they would have died from 20 years ago. So it’s crucial that our critical illness cover keeps pace with advances in medicine and changes in people’s health and recovery.

That’s why we’ve recently updated our list of definitions and, in a new approach for Bright Grey, we now offer cover for 2 early forms of cancer. These are:

  • ductal carcinoma in situ, a form of breast cancer
  • low grade prostate cancer

For these illnesses we’ll pay 20% of the sum assured, up to £15,000 in addition to the existing critical illness cover. So if the worst happened, and your client was later diagnosed with cancer and met the definition, we would still pay the full amount they are covered for.

As well as the 2 early stage cancer definitions, we’ve added 5 new definitions and improved stroke to ABI+.

We now cover 43 definitions, 41 of which pay the full amount of cover and 2 that pay out in addition to the sum assured. And we have 9 definitions that exceed the ABI standard.

The benefit to your client is clear – our comprehensive list of definitions gives them critical illness cover that really does go above and beyond.
